COVID-19: Northwest Kansas COVID-19 Testing
We were notified by KDHE that the testing criteria has been modified and we are now approved to test those without a fever. The testing is available to NWKS residents who meet criteria set by KDHE & who are experiencing two or more symptoms such as: fever of more than 100 degrees, chills, shivering, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, lower respiratory illness (cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing), and sudden loss of smell or taste. To receive a screening for a test, you MUST schedule an appointment by calling Family Center for Health Care at 785-462-6184, option 3 or the Thomas County Health Department at 785-460-4596
Today during Governor Kelly’s press release, Dr. Lee Norman announced that there will be extended COVID-19 testing in Thomas County. The testing is ONLY available to NWKS residents who meet criteria set by KDHE & who are experiencing multiple symptoms such as: fever of more than 100 degrees, chills, shivering, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, lower respiratory illness (cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing), and sudden loss of smell or taste. To receive a screening for a test, you MUST schedule an appointment by calling Family Center for Health Care at 785-462-6184, option 3 or the Thomas County Health Department at 785-460-4596. Tests are limited; therefore, tests will ONLY be conducted on those who display symptoms and have called in and made an appointment. Please note, this is NOT a medical evaluation. Tests will only be performed during regular business hours. If you are experiencing the symptoms listed above on weekends or after hours, contact your local emergency department.
