These lists may be subject to change to insure Thomas County remains in compliance with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment's Regulations. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that the Scale Operator has the ability to CLASSIFY the different wastes entering the landfill. This information is used in reporting tonnages to K.D.H.E. in order to keep our landfill operating. Different waste must be VISIBLY separate on the scale to insure proper reporting. At the operator's discretion, loads may be turned back or charged higher tipping fees on loads that have MIXED DEBRIS! This may not be an exclusive list of items not allowed in Municipal Solid Waste and that determination must and shall be made by Thomas County Landfill Employees to do so. Failure to recognize or sort loads according to rules set forth by K.D.H.E. may result in denial of disposal at the Thomas County Landfill. |
